Coverage & fit

Local for small jobs, mobile for the right projects.

Tonmark works outward from Chafford Hundred. Coverage is honest about distance: small jobs close to base, larger projects further out where the size of the work makes the travel sensible. The towns below are representative of each zone, not an exhaustive list — if you are nearby, ask.

Everyday work, including smaller jobs Local zone

Our doorstep. We take on repairs and single rooms here, as well as larger work — distance is not a barrier close to base.

Whole properties and contractor packages Essex & London project zone

Across Thurrock, wider Essex and East London for full-property and commercial work where a coordinated team is the right fit.

Larger projects, up to about 100 km Outer zone

Further into London and beyond for projects above an agreed minimum size, where the value and duration make travel commercially sensible.

Good to know

Questions, answered straight.

Do you give a free quote?

Yes. Send your postcode, a short description and a few photos and we will come back to you. For larger or less straightforward work we may arrange a site visit before confirming the figure, so the quote reflects the real job rather than a guess.

Do you work for homeowners as well as contractors?

Both. Tonmark handles single rooms, repairs and whole-property work for homeowners and landlords, and larger packages for builders, developers and main contractors. The enquiry form adapts to whichever you are so we ask only what is relevant.

What is the difference between skimming and tape & jointing?

Skimming covers a whole surface with a thin plaster finish. Tape and jointing treats only the joints and fixings between plasterboards and is often faster on new-build and commercial work. The right method depends on the build, the finish you want and the programme — we will recommend the one that suits your project.

Will the walls be ready to paint when you finish?

We aim to leave a smooth, paint-ready surface. Fresh plaster has to dry fully before it is decorated, so we will explain the expected drying time for your project rather than leave you guessing.

How should I prepare for the work?

Clear small items and provide access where you can. Before we start we will explain what needs moving, what we will protect, and any access or parking we need — there should be no surprises on day one.

How far do you travel?

Outward from Chafford Hundred: smaller jobs close to base, and larger projects across Essex and London — up to roughly 100 km where the size of the work makes the travel sensible. Send your postcode and we will confirm honestly whether it is a good fit.

Ready when you are.

Send the basics and we’ll come back to arrange a visit or ask for anything else. We aim to respond within the same working day.
